Gloria’s Rest is a small but fully stocked cabin where a writer can work in solitude. The cabin has a stove, microwave, shower, woodstove, heater, firepit, and other necessities. The cabin overlooks Owsley Fork Lake and has a backdrop of the expansive hills of the Cumberland Plateau. The cabin is called Gloria’s Rest because author and feminist icon Gloria Steinem was one of the first guests. Poets, journalists, novelists, painters, and musicians have worked on their art in this cabin. It is available for up to two weeks at a time.
